What an amazing honor to know that God loved me so much He had a whole book written for me so I would know how to live. The older I get and the more I think about this, the more and more I love God.
Every year I pick out one verse that I will meditate on and use liberally throughout the year. This year’s verse is Proverbs 30:5. Every Word of God proves true. What an awesome verse! Did you ever wonder why certain verses are buried? Why didn’t God put this verse in the book of Genesis? Why did he put it at the end of the book of Proverbs? I don’t know. But I would guess it’s because the person who digs and digs into God’s Word, deserves to find a diamond. I can’t tell you how many times I have read the entire book of Proverbs and I have never seen this verse. Let me take it back. I have seen it, but it was words. It wasn’t Rhema to me. It wasn’t The Spoken Word.
Every Word of God proves true. How powerful is that? Every word. That means that excuses are obsolete now.
- This section of the Bible isn’t important.
- Only this book of the Bible pertains to today.
- It was only for then.
- It’s not applicable to us.
These excuses aren’t plausible. Every Word of God proves true. That means that when I pray for something it will happen because 1 John 5: 14-15 says, “And we are confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him. 15 And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for.”
Every Word of God proves true. That means when I lay my hands on the sick, guess what? The Word says in Mark 16:18, “They shall lay their hands on the sick, and the sick shall recover.” Guess what? That person is getting well! Hallelujah! Are you getting this? God said that every Word of God proves true.
How do you know that Ang? It’s quite simple my friend. God…said…so. I believe the Word of God like a child. If God said it then it’s true. I often compare the example of how our faith in God should be, to that of a child asking to go to Disney World. We now have a grandson, so I will use him because we are prepping ourselves for all of his requests. If our grandson asks us, “Grammie and Papa will you take me to Disney World?” of course we would say yes. But here’s where the faith analogy comes in. Our grandson heard yes and that’s that. Grammie and Papa said it, that’s it. He isn’t going to go home and worry about if we are going to be able to afford it. He’s not going to worry about if the airline prices will be cheap enough for us to go. He’s not even going to think about the ticket price to get into Disney World. Why? Because Grammie and Papa said yes and that’s that.
That’s how we need to be with God. Every Word of God proves true. If God said it… okay! That’s it. No question. No wondering. No worrying. God said it. Bang! Done! Now here’s the part that we get hung up on. Because we live in a world where everything is pretty much spontaneous, we have trouble understanding why some prayers take awhile to be answered. I don’t know. I can’t answer that. But what I do know is that every Word of God proves true and God said in Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.” I don’t know why some prayers take longer than others to be fulfilled. I wonder that myself…often. I have something I have been believing for… for three years! Am I wanting it to happen? Oh yeah! Ask my husband! Am I able to make it happen on my own? Sure! With a lot of work and finances. But what have I decided? To believe that every Word of God proves true. I have lined up my verses for God and brought them to Him. Yes! We can do that! He wants us to! “Here God. You said this and you said this and Lord, with my deepest respect, I believe them all. I don’t care what my friends say or think. I don’t even care what my husband thinks. I believe every Word of God proves true.”
So let me encourage you. This is a New Year. Press into God like you never have before. If you make one resolution this year, make it that you will take God’s Word and believe it unconditionally. That you will take Scripture and hang onto it like a floatation device. Believe the Word of God as you never have before because know that every Word of God proves true.
